Congregation Beth Shalom

Chinese Christian Church 
(Evangelical Lutheran Church of America)
 Chicago, Illinois

Assistance with obtaining building and zoning approvals for an existing building on North Broadway Avenue. The building houses the church and its social functions which serve newly arrived immigrants and students from China living in the New Chinatown area. Implementation of conversion of office and residential spaces to a church was successfully implemented and has resulted in new converts to the Lutheran Church.

Unity Church of the North Shore
Evanston, Illinois

 Master planning for future renovation and additions to the church which was built in the 1960¡¯s. Concept designs were developed for handicapped access compliance, new and renovated meeting rooms, relocated new entry, enlarged bookstore and offices. The plan also featured the development of an exterior landscaped garden and lawn area with new openings off the church sanctuary which could be used for summer services and receptions. Sketches and plans supported fundraising efforts.

Evangelical Church of Saint Philip (ELCA), Child Care Center
Chicago, Illinois

Child Care and Kindergarten Center Space planning and design for converting a 7,500 square foot former office and warehouse building adjacent to the church school into a child care and kindergarten center. A new kitchen was provided in the school basement and a bowling alley was redesigned as a children¡¯s cafeteria. Programming of spaces was successfully implemented.

Evangelical Church of Saint Philip School
Chicago, Illinois

Professional services for window replacement in eight classrooms, new suspended acoustical tile ceilings, new energy-efficient lighting. Needed maintenance was implemented within budget and on time.

St. Mary¡¯s Roman Catholic Church
Mokena, Illiniois

This church constructed by German immigrants in 1864 required extensive structural reinforcement and fabric restoration because of inadequate foundations and abandonment for almost twenty years. Restoration of the interior and a new sacristy added to the rear that replicated one demolished in 1900 were also part of the project.

                          

 

Truth Lutheran Church (ELCA)
Naperville, Illinois

Schematic planning and design for a new mission church in Naperville. The studies provided a design that was appropriate as a mission church. Requirements for obtaining zoning approval including in-depth site planning for parking and landscaping, as well as water retention-detention solutions. The project proved to be too costly to implement and the congregation later elected to renovate a former library for its church.

 

Ravenswood Evangelical Covenant Church
Chicago, Illinois

Interior renovations for handicapped access including an elevator serving three floors. The work was planned with a minimum of disruption to the facility during construction. The project was a complete success in meeting cost, schedule and functional requirements.
