The
renovation and addition to Zions 12,000 square foot public library
was recently completed. A central lobby links the new building and the
older building built in 1981 with 21,000 square feet of total new space.
An expansion plan for a second phase will bring the total library area
to 62,000 square feet. The lobby contains entries, circulation desk, and
workroom. Adult services are located in the new addition along with a
100-person meeting room. The childrens library and staff offices
are housed in the existing building. A curved roof with architectural
neon lighting floats above the central lobby. The project was financed
through a $4 million bond issue approved by a public referendum and a
State Grant.
